Summers are round the corner. The scorching heat, pollution, and humidity wipe off the natural skin glow and invite infections. Is this really bearable? Not for me! In order to avoid all these hassles, I’ve got some easy tips and tricks that work to manage an effective skincare routine. I have always struggled with my dry skin but summers have never been hard on me. Are you the one in the same boat? If so, you really need to plan your skincare routine for the upcoming summer.

I consider skincare routines as the real challenges coming my way day and night. My skin bothers me all the time and winning this has made me come up with a skincare routine for the upcoming summer. Check my routine step by step as below;

Exfoliate your body

The basic rule of skin care is to exfoliate your skin as your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every day. If you don’t get rid of them, they’ll set on your skin and will make you look dry and dull. No matter how much lotion you use, you’re never going to have glowing skin. Grab a body scrub and use it in the shower. Gently exfoliate in circular motions on your body. Do you want a facial? Exfoliate your face and neck area then rinse. Continue this 2-3 times a week for beautiful skin.

Use a Sunscreen

Throw away old unused sunscreen for a new bottle. Sunscreens aren’t meant to last. Most people don’t use it as much as they should, so buy a new sunscreen that has UVA or UVB products that comes in SPF 30 and SPF 70. Use a shot glass for your body and a full teaspoon on your face then reapply it every 1-2 hours when you are in the sun to ensure a summer with a safe sun.

Go for a minimal make-up

During summers applying less make-up is the best. Under the sun, the natural looks are the best. If you want to use foundation then also apply face powder with SPF to avoid patchy skin. To protect your lips, use a gloss or a lip balm with an SPF 15 to make your lips look fresher. Eye makeup is something that should be avoided in summers.

Drink plenty of water

Drink at least eight glasses of water and, if possible, carry a water bottle and remember to drink once every 30 min. Water not only makes you feel fresh, but it also prevents dehydration and helps wash out toxins.

Hydrate your skin with a lotion

Find a lotion for summers that you won’t forget to put on as it’s time to pack your thick winter body kinds of butter for a more light summery lotion. You won’t have time to wait for your lotion to sink in, so look up for something light and fast-absorbing.

Summer glow

You have so many options when it comes to having a summer tint to your skin, the tanning bed shouldn’t be one of them. Using a sunless tanner will give your skin a beautiful head start for summers. If you’re not a fan of sunless tanners, you can still happily use them on your face.

Don’t forget your feet

Winter boots have been packed away and now it’s sandal season. Either go or get a pedicure and try out a beauty school if the cost is a factor. Give yourself an at-home pedicure. Scrub the dead dry skin cells and reveal your sandal.
